The Riots and the cause of Social unrest

(If you have arrived at this page directly please take a moment to read the explanation about this page before reading it)

It appears everyone is having their say on this matter and I’m going to be no different. Everyone has an opinion about what happened and everyone should express and be encouraged to express that opinion whatever it may be.

Before the recent troubles I was writing a piece about free speech and how peoples opinions are aired and listened to in our society these days so instead of publishing that I’m going to use parts here as the points I will raise have even more relevance now in the wake of what happened. I wouldn’t normally go into politics as like most people I don’t like it much but at the end of the day it’s something that needs to be discussed so here goes.

First of I will address the “people” responsible for the riots. I use the term people loosely as I don’t think they deserve a tag that nice. Those involved are nothing more than criminal scum and the cancer of humanity. With that being said what can be done about it?

Crime is the first thing I’m going to look at as this is the main problem. Those involved are not just from one race group there were black and white people involved and possibly other groups but they all have one thing in common. They all come from an underclass where crime isn’t viewed as wrong the role models in this underclass are scum like drug dealers purely because they have earned lots of money from their evil trade and can afford flash cars, designer clothes etc.

If this country dealt with crime and in particular the drug problem the people this underclass look up to wouldn’t be there in the first place they would be rotting in prison where they belong. Personally I don’t think the punishments for drug dealing are harsh enough I would have a minimum jail term of 10 years with most getting life or in severe cases possibly even the death penalty such is the blight on humanity these parasites cause.

Removing drugs from society should also remove the associated violence that comes with them. How much gun crime isn’t connected with drugs? Not a lot I suspect. Gangs exist to a large extent for the same reason as well. In parts of London for example people can be shot for crossing the road as they have entered a rival gang’s territory. Gang territory is routinely patrolled by gang members on motorbikes and in cars with guns. Gang leaders have power and influence on everyone in their area and what is done about it? Absolutely nothing most of the time the police know who these people are but for whatever reason choose not to do anything about them. Gang areas need to be brought back under the rule of law and the gang members need to be rotting in prison with the drug dealers with proper sentences so they can never cause problems again.

Most of the people in these areas are not born bad people it’s like what happens with food if you put a rotten item of food next to fresh items that rot spreads to the fresh stuff and that becomes just as rotten after a while. If you remove that rot early it won’t spread.

The other benefit of beating crime is the amount of money it will free up to be spent on something useful. Back in 2000 crime in England and Wales cost an estimated £60 billion a year according to figures published by a British crime survey. By 2009 that figure was £78 billion and I doubt that figure has gone anywhere except up since then. Employing more police seems a very good idea to me as spending millions on more officers can save us billions in reduced crime cost.

The money saved there could go towards getting these people educated and given a future. A task made easier anyway once the criminal element has been removed from their lives.

The other thing that crops up over and over again is people from the affected communities complaining that no one listens to their views or does anything for them. This is a major talking point and quite frankly they are right no one does listen to them or do anything but it’s the same for just about everyone living in this country very few people have any real say or influence on what happens and the ones that are normally listened to are the ones with nothing to say.

This country is built on the notion of democracy where every person has a free vote to decide who our leaders are. Sadly this isn’t really any more than just a notion when put into practice votes are not worth the same everywhere and even if the system was changed so they were there are still many other factors with more influence on how the country is run than the people who place their paper in a ballot box.

Genuine freedom and choice does not exist in UK politics political correctness assures this will always be the case which brings me on to free speech bit I was writing beforehand.

There have been campaigns in this country to stop groups/individuals standing for election due to the nature of their views mainly because these views don’t fit with those laid down by the ruling parties over the years and having different views on offer poses a threat to them. That sort of practice should be reserved for evil dictatorships not democratic countries. Surely in a free nation anyone should be allowed to stand for election regardless of their views it’s up to the voters to chose if these people get elected or not. If all viewpoints were catered for in politics we wouldn’t be in the mess we are now.

The media support this as well which annoys me greatly on TV as every time someone has an opinion outside of what we told we can think they are just dismissed as racist, sexist, homophobic etc. or whichever word is appropriate for the view expressed. All views should be aired with equal fairness regardless of what the person has to say the media is supposed to treat everyone fairly not just cherry pick peoples opinions that suit the way we are supposed to think.

I repeatedly hear on TV that attitudes towards a particular subject have changed. Most of the time they haven’t changed one bit it’s just political correctness has been used to sweep all the views under the carpet that politicians/the media don’t like. Just because you hide something it doesn’t make it go away eventually it will build up and explode. Out in the real world people still have these opinions it’s just they aren’t allowed to express them anymore. As soon as someone says something outside of PC everyone automatically shouts bigot and rejects the opinion out of hand without even listening to it. What happens if that person was right in what they said? Opinions deserve to be discussed if the view expressed was just blatant racism, sexism etc. it won’t be hard to prove and produce the hard facts to back it up will it and if you can’t do that maybe just maybe that person was right in what they said and if they are wrong there still may be a grain or 2 of truth to what they said.

Question Time on the BBC is a good example of this the big 3 political parties are heavily supported with only the occasional appearance from anyone else and that’s just so they can be attacked by the big 3 to eliminate any threat posed to them at the ballot box. Questions have to be submitted beforehand so anything too controversial can be removed and the studio audience is generally made up of students with idealist views of the world that fit with those of the politicians and the broadcaster. The whole show is just a sham.

To me free speech means no restrictions on what you say otherwise it isn’t free. Unless people are allowed to express their true views how are we to know what people think? I say what I want about who/what I want if it offends then tough everyone else has just the same right to say what they want about me.

If proper free speech existed so called “extremist groups” wouldn’t exist as no one would have the need to form a group to make their voice heard. Most of these so called “extremists” aren’t that extreme at all it’s just an easy tag that can be stuck on someone who’s views don’t fit “politically correct” ones.

I personally think people who support political correctness should be rounded up and shot. Does that make me an “extremist”? I’m sure it would do on TV people would be attacking me and demanding that people like me are outlawed…….. hang on a minute they hate people with views like me doesn’t that make them “extremists” as well?. Hatred is preached towards extremist views on a daily basis and nothing is ever done about that it’s even the positively encouraged thing to do.

When there is a protest by a so called “hate group” such as one from the far right what happens? Another group forms to preach hate against them. Surely both are “hate groups” but in the eyes of the media only one is why would that be? Why that group happens to be in charge of the country and the media of course it’s only “hate” when it goes against the views of those in charge. Those people should try looking in the mirror for once as they are just as bigoted as the people they attack.

This country is so tied up in all this stuff that it’s almost impossible to do anything about any problem now because it’s politically incorrect to do so or it breaches human rights or some other stupid regulation that have been dreamt up by PC morons over the last few decades. At this rate it won’t be long before we aren’t allowed to punish criminals at all because it “breaches their human rights”. The country functioned perfectly well before all this stuff came along. Sure the country still had problems but steps were taken to solve problems that weren’t there in the first place and in doing so created new ones.

Because of this it’s very difficult to have strong leadership of the country or anything else for that matter and where leadership is weak people take advantage of it. One of the reasons people were rioting and looting is because they knew they could get away with it or receive little punishment for their crimes in the unlikely event they got caught due to weakness in the legal system a weakness caused by people like human rights organisations campaigning for more lenient punishments. Organisations like that tend to do as much harm as good these days the phrase “killing with kindness” springs to mind.

People are taught to believe that everyone is created equally which in my opinion is the biggest pile of crap anyone has come up with since religion. The whole “All men are created equal” thing was first said by a man who owned other human beings which tells you all you need to know about that statement really. People are not equal and never will be. While money exists there will be rich and poor. One of the main reasons why we have money is to create that difference. People are created unequally in more ways than we can imagine that’s what makes us individuals and wouldn’t you rather the world was full of them rather than a bunch of equally created clones?

This country needs difference and different opinion we can’t just sit in a politically correct bubble forever. We now live in a world where people are scared to say anything in case someone somewhere is offended by it. What is so wrong with offending people we don’t all have to get along with each other and believe in and like the exact same things if that happens the world will be a truly dreadful place to live in.

Ask yourself why our current chancellor of the exchequer is a multi millionaire, the riots happened because one that “underclass” is fed up to the teeth, two they seek and aspire to emulate their idols, it would also help if the expenses scandal hadn’t happened because then they wouldn’t think “oh shit they’re stealing tvs, we can do it too” The politicians are just as bad IF worse because they think they’ve done nothing wrong and yet continue to pour scorn on that “underclass”

So where do we go from here… we take away the JSA for this “criminal scum” if they refuse to learn. Then what they refuse to learn and start rioting because they have no money.

Prison doesn’t solve a thing, they’re already overcrowded.

Also I don’t know if English is your first language but…

“People are taught to believe that everyone is created equally which in my opinion is the biggest pile of crap anyone has come up with since religion. Let’s look at this little gem… What on earth are you talking about? You know nothing of what you speak you’re no more informed than a daily mail reader that thinks they’re above a laymen perusing the mirror or sun.

The wealth gap is getting bigger and on purpose, soon there will no longer be middle class, only dirt poor and dirt rich.

Now no offence but you don’t strike me as dirt rich or educated for that matter. So enjoy rioting with the common filth you seem to love mocking.

“due to weakness in the legal system a weakness caused by people like human rights organisations campaigning for more lenient punishments.”

That’s a little concept called compassion you may have heard of it.

I don’t know what planet you’re currently on but you’re so incredibly out of touch but have fun being the “mother of cappers”

    Be well

I will agree with you on the first paragraph or so. I would have written about that but didn’t see the point when millions of others were already doing so. the point of my piece was to try and look at the problem from a different angle to everyone else. Prison can work but it has to be done correctly it won’t work while gangs and drugs are allowed to exist there. the paragraph you quoted does make perfect sense but seeing as your having trouble with it I will help you out a bit. the first part simply points out the fact that humans are not created equally which is a straightforward fact admittedly one that many people fail to grasp hence the religion reference. the only way we are equal is in the way we are treated which is very different from created check the definitions if you aren’t sure. Even with the treatment of everyone as being equal it’s something that’s practically impossible to achieve 100% there will always be a few for whatever reason don’t get fair treatment.

Now onto the money part this is simply the function of money. you pretty much answered your own question with the statement that the wealth gap is growing. Money is there to create that gap as soon as the first currency systems were created this has happened and always will do. Sure the gap is far to big and can be reduced greatly but there still needs to be a range of wealth levels for live to function properly.

I fully understand the concept of compassion but it can also be a weakness one which has been taken advantage of more times than most people can count in the legal system. because of weakness in the legal system someone can break into your house and rob you then sue you for hurting themselves in the process. are things like that right? Human rights gives our criminals a better quality of life than some people who have never committed a crime in their lives is that right? most people would say no and if criminals aren’t punished properly for their actions crime gets worse and we all lose even more.

finally the planet I’m on is the real one unlike a huge amount of people
