Another Wimbledon and yet again the local BBC news has been ruined by it. How many years need to go by before the BBC actually listen to its viewers and schedule everything properly?
The main 6pm news got moved to BBC2 we can watch it there so fair enough but at 6:30pm it’s regional news time. Wales and Northern Ireland got their local news as normal as they have a local BBC2 but what about everyone else? We have to put up with Andy Murray as we don’t have local BBC2 for each region and we end up with 4 minutes of local news after the tennis. This arrangement also failed the tennis as there was very little time to have any interviews etc at it’s conclusion before the insult that was the local news appeared.
If anyone at the BBC had any sense they would do something about this after all it happens every year and they receive tons of complaints about it. The solution is so simple it’s unbelievable. Put the tennis on BBC2 from the start of play and stay with it until its conclusion also have it on one of the 2 BBC HD channels then run BBC1 as normal. How hard it that? Impossible if you happen to work for the BBC. The tennis is also on the red button and the internet how many more ways do we need to watch? If Andy Murray’s fans can’t find a way to watch other than on BBC1 tough.
All the hard work of hundreds of regional news staff put in preparing the evenings news goes down the toilet yet again as they are treated with contempt by the management and who has to say sorry? It’s the regional news staff as no one from upstairs at the BBC ever has the guts to do so. Why do the presenters have to apologise for failings they had nothing to do with? No wonder morale is low in the organisation
I would put in a formal complaint but there doesn’t seem to be much point as no one there ever listens or cares about what the viewers think. Shows like Points of View are just there to pretend they care whenever an important issue is raised it gets swept under the carpet and forgotten about.
When I did put in a complaint about someone at the BBC on an unrelated matter I was told to complain to the person I was complaining about! That’s how good the complaints department is when I followed up the response to my complaint guess what happened? Absolutely nothing as normal because if it was dealt with correctly incompetent staff would have lost their jobs and they most likely would have spilled the dirt they have on the other dodgy people working there and the BBC Board can’t be having that can they. Because of that the editorial guidelines and all the other rules are worthless as they will probably only apply to people with no leverage in the corporation. I’m guessing Jonathan Ross must have had some seriously good stuff on someone to get a £16.9m contract as no one in their right mind who is clean would ever have offered him that money.
This is just a typical example of how the BBC is run these days and what happens when incompetent morons like Mark Thompson are put in charge. Since he started as Director General the BBC has stumbled from one problem to the next and standards in all departments have gone through the floor. How much more do we need to put up with before him and all the other waste of space pieces of crap in charge are disposed of? He earns the thick end of £1m a year that would help the budget cuts quite nicely if he went along with goodness how much more money the rest these parasites are taking as they ride the BBC gravy train while regular staff face the sack to cut costs.
Mr Thompson you have Been a complete and utter failure at your job would you please do the BBC viewers and staff a favour and quit and take all the rest of your leaching yes men cronies with you.
